PITA Group, Inc. Certification |
Since 1985, the PITA Group Inc. has served the alcohol and other drug profession with consulting specialist in the areas of administrative and clinical support, certification and program accreditation. The PITA Group Inc. developed the Prevention Certification program for the State of Colorado and has bestowed the certificate of Certified Chemical Dependency Counselor to over two hundred professionals since 1996 in conjunction with the National Association of Forensic Counselors.
In 2000, PITA Group Inc.’s board recognized that professionals who are trained and practice alternative or complementary forms of treatment do not have specific certification to demonstrate their levels of proficiency and professional accomplishments in these unique and specific areas of treatment. The present PITA Group Inc. certification ensures the public that the bearers of their certification have passed: (1) rigorous ethics investigation; (2) exams covering all models of alcohol and other drug treatment and prevention; (3) a minimum of two years of supervised practice; (4) four letters of personal and professional ethics recommendations; (5) and, specific examinations, both written and oral, covering basic knowledge of AOD prevention and treatment, as well as, alternative, drug-free modalities of treatment.
