PITA Group International

The main purpose of this blog is to communicate with the lay public, meaning those who are not professionals in the addiction field, so that families, loved ones and addicts can take a more active role in handling their addiction.  The Executives and Board Members of PITA Group International have many years of experience as professionals in helping the addicted public.  

I hope that this blog will become a point of discussion about the field of addiction rehab as well as a place of information for families and friends of persons addicted to alcohol and other drugs.  Over the many years that we have been in this field, since Nixon's war on drug, the government has spent over $500 billion and we are at a point now where most of the public and the government has given up on finding help.  

This rehab field came from some interesting roots, but certainly not from a scientific basis, but more from a semi-religious foundation.  Therefore, you have people continue to suffer needlessly with addiction because they are taking professional advice that isn't founded in discipline with sound cures and, over the years, this field of rehab has become something which I cannot take pride.  Today, people are still filled with myths about the origins of addiction and promises of cures when the truth bares out that following these regimes will only delay ones suffering, at best, and may divide families and loved ones in the process.
